ANP in Herat attend second literacy course

HeratThe second round of Literacy Course was recently held for ANP inside Police HQ in Herat province.

This nine months course, which has been launched by the Vital Literacy Department, more then hundred ANP included 20 women have participated. Col Noor Khan Neakzad, Spokesperson to the Police HQ in Herat says all police HQ stuff will be covered by this program. He called aim of this course rising up the capacity building of the ANP personnel. "When police have enough education they can do their works in better way like coordinating and sharing security issues with people and asking help from them, if a police is given procuring task he will be able to carry it to the right place." He added Vital Literacy Department is going to hold sooner same courses for other illiterate police from other security organs in Herat. S

ome participants of this course are expressing their opinions. "They are keen to learn education." "When we joined ANP we were illiterate because no chance for getting education had been paved for us, but now there is literacy course inside Police HQ those police who are illiterates can come here to learn, so it is very good for the future." 30 ANP have attended the first round of literacy course and got certificates.
