The new educational year was inaugurated by President Hamid Karzai with ringing the school bell Saturday.
The school bell was also rung by Mr. Hamid Karzai eight years ago, after toppling down the Taliban Regime. The Education Year Inauguration Ceremony was attended by high authorities, officials of the education sectors, members of parliament and a number of school students.
However, Mr. Hamid Karzai didn't describe the performances of the last year satisfactory in the site of education but he still praised them and he said that Afghans hope to be self-sufficient and they try their best in achieving this goal. He described the improvement of education the only way toward self-sufficiency. "This is the only way toward development to train and educate the children well"
President Karzai stated. He told the Afghan Nation that every family, father, mother and every elder of the country should spend every moment of their life in well-training and educating their children. Mr. Hamid Karzai asked the opponents of the government that they should not deprive the country children from education opportunity and they should let them to be well trained and educated. He told the students that the time is passing and they should not lose this opportunity so they should learn to have good future. President Hamid Karzai asked the teachers to teach students honestly and kindly.
Minister of Education, Dr. Faroq Wardak spoke about the improvements of education quality. He says, "It was our hope to improve the quality of education and learning but this year, we hope to improve life and teaching quality, it means we try our best to improve the livelihood of the teachers besides improving their educational and professional background."
The school bell of this year was rung meanwhile the government built thousands of schools with cooperation of the international community in different regions of the country and today more than 6 million students including boys and girls are ready to go to schools.
