The People's Representatives in the Lower House today questioned Dr. Farouq Wardak, person In-Charge of Peace Consultative Jirga which is due to be held on 9th of Sawr [solar month] next solar year.
The Afghan Education Minister and person in-charge of Peace Consultative Jirga, said that the Afghan Government has mentioned about holding Peace Consultative Jirga both in the London Conference and his swearing-in ceremony.
He added that Peace Consultative Jirga will pursue three main objectives. He said: "It will follow three basic goals that are consultation, negotiation, and consensus with the Afghan nation in order to achieve an everlasting peace, strengthen the national unity, unify the ideas, and unify the position of Afghan nation in important issues such as existing insecurities."
Dr Wardak added that solutions to achieve international community's support and regional co-operations will be sought in the Jirga.
The Lower House Chairperson, Mohammad Yonus Qanuni, welcomed the countrywide Peace Consultative Jirga's process and hoped for its fruitful results. "Dear Education Minister, in my point of view, the views of People's Representatives were very important in improving and strengthening the process. Ways will be sought in this Jirga to lead us toward reconciliation."
The Peace Consultative Jirga is another hatch that contributes to make the people of Afghanistan hopeful and pave the ground for an overall peace in the country.
