Insurgents killed while fighting against each other in Baghlan

Baghlan provinceAs a result of fighting among two armed opponent groups several opponents of the government have been killed and injured.

Security Commander of Baghlan province, Gen. Mohammad Kabir Andrabi says that the conflicts occurred between two armed groups of Hezb-e-Islami and Taliban in different regions of Markazi-Baghlan district as a result both groups suffered heavy casualties.

 He says, "As a result of the conflicts between Taliban and Hezb-e-Islami 35 people from Hezb-e-Islami and 20 people from the Taliban were killed in Kok-Chenar, Iesr Kheil, Alaudin, Pata Shakh regions of Markazi Baghlan district of this province. 20 fighters from both sides and also several local people have been injured."

He added that the ANP delivered a lot of assistance to the injured people of the conflicts. Police were not involved in these conflicts.

Gen. Kabir Andrabi described the security situation normal and he said the opponents are not able to deteriorate security of this province and the police don't let any opponent to bother the local people. He says, "They are self-opinionated and always think materialistic. They are weak and fighting against each other for materials and lands."

According to the security officials of Baghlan province tens of opponents of the government have been killed, injured and arrested as a result of the ANSF operations and more than three hundred opponents joined the Peace & Reconciliation Process during this year from Andarab district of this province.
