Afghan Cricket team beats UAE in friendly competitions

Afghan National Cricket Team The Afghan National Cricket Team defeated the United Arab Emirates in friendly competitions by thirty nine runs before Twenty-Twenty Cricket Games that will be held in UAE.

The Afghanistan National Cricket Team played against Sharga Cricket Team, Ireland played against Canada and the Scotland Cricket Team played against Kenya in those friendly competitions. The Afghan Cricket Team won the toss and played against UAE first.

The Afghan Team received 190 runs by nine players in twenty over. Then, the UAE Team played and received 101 runs by seven players in twenty over.

Head of the Afghan National Cricket Board Communication Officer, Farid Hotak says, "Fortunately, Afghanistan defeated the UAE team. We are optimistic that our National Team will hold the championship of the friendly competitions because they took good preparations. We hope the people will encourage and pray for the players in the future as they did before."

The captain of National Team, Nawroz Mangal received 55 runs, Asghar Stanakzai 41 runs, Karim Sadiq 7 runs, Noor Ali Zadran 4 runs, Mohammad Shazad 27 runs, Raies Ahmadzai 26 runs, Shafiqullah Shafiq 8 runs, Mohammad Nabi Esa Kheil 10 runs, Ashraf Mirwais 8 runs, and Dawlat Ahmadzai received 4 runs.

The Afghan National Cricket Team went to Sharga to attend the Twenty-Twenty Qualifying Games on 9th February 2010 in Dubai. It will be attended by eight cricket teams from different countries and they are divided into two groups. Afghanistan, America, Ireland, and Scoteland are in the A Group. Canada, Kenya, Holland and UAE are in B Group. The teams in  first or second position then play in the Twenty-Twenty World Cricket Games, that will be held in West Indies on 30th April 2010.

According to a separate report, the Afghan Under Nineteen Cricket Team player and the faster baller  Aftab Alam was hired in National Cricket Team instead of Obaidullah Kunari who was sent to Kabul because he couldn't play because of an injury which he received during the games.

Captain Nawroz Mangal says that Aftab Alam is a young player, he carried out good performance in Under Nineteen World Cup Cricket Games held in New Zealand.

He says Aftab Alam is a fast baller and they will observe him in Twenty-Twenty Qualifying Competitions.
