The Afghan National Football Team came in second after being defeated by Bangladesh in the final of South Asian Games.
At the end of the games, Bangladesh received Gold Medal and Afghanistan Received Bronze Medal. Mr. Ahmad Shah says, "We are satisfied of the Afghan players performances in Asian Football Games held in Bangladesh because they didn't have good holdings in the competitions held outside of the country before but now, this is a good success that they held second position in Asian Football Games."
According to the officials of Afghan National Olympic Committee, as a result of the participation in competitions of Wrestling, Basketball, Taekwondo, Boxing, Judo and Woosho, the Afghan players received seven gold medals nine silver medals and eighteen bronze medals.
India achieved first place by 169 medals including 88 gold medals in Asian Games. Pakistan Achieved second position by receiving eighty medals, Bangladesh achieved third position and received 96 different medals in the Asian Games.
Afghanistan received totally 32 medals including 7 gold medals and eighteen bronze medals and achieved sixth position in the mentioned competitions. Afghanistan received six gold medals, seven silver medals and eighteen bonze medals in 2006 in the mentioned games.
The Southern Asian Countries Games started on 9th of February 2010 in Bangladesh, attended by eight countries' round 2500 players including Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Maldives, Sari Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Butane. 150 players of Afghanistan in 14 sport fields of this province and they till now they had good achievements.
