Afghanistan won the championship of the Asian Full Contact Boxing Games and received two silver medals in the Asian Professional Boxing and Judo Games attended by players from 15 countries.
The competitions attended by players from 40 countries held in India on 26th Feb 2010. According to the officials of Afghan National Olympic Committee, Afghanistan achieved the championship of the Asian Boxing Full Contact Games in different weights and received five gold medals, one silver medal, and one bronze medal.
Communication Officer of the Afghan National Olympic Committee, Mohammad Arif Paiman told Sada-e-Azadi radio the champion players and players who carried good performances in the mentioned games were honored by the Olympic Committee in a celebration session.
Arif Paiman says, "The National Olympic Committee supposes 'the celebration of players' performances' its responsibility. As you know recently, the National Olympic Committee praised the champion players in a celebration session."
Head of the National Olympic Committee, Mohammad Zahir Aghbar told the Celebration session, the government promised to give 100,000 AFG to the player who got gold medal, 80,000 AFG to the player who got bronze medal and 50, 000 AFG to the player who got silver medal.
He also asked the governmental and nongovernmental organizations to help them in encouraging the players who brought pride to the country. According to the National Olympic Committee officials, currently, two Afghan Players are playing in the Boxing Competitions in Germany and one of them received gold medal.
