ulema-support-andsfAround three thousand religious leaders and scholars from different provinces of Afghanistan recently gathered in the Loya Jirga tent in Kabul to announce their support for the ANSDF.

Kabul Ulema Council director, Maulawi Abdul Basir Haqqani praised the ANSDF for taking the lead in maintaining security in the country. “All Afghans should support our security forces. Our ANSDF have given their lives in the past 13 years to protect this territory,” he said in the gathering.

Maulawi Atahullah Fayzani, another member of Kabul Ulema Council, said that the message of peace and security comes from masjids (mosques) and schools. “Listening to the words of scholars and teachers is our responsibility.” He asked people to stand behind the security forces.

Major General Mohammad Amin Naseeb, Director of Religious and Cultural Affairs at Ministry of Defense, thanked the religious leaders and scholars. “Your support boosts the morale of our ANSDF in the fight against the enemies of Afghanistan.”
