President Ashraf Ghani visited the Emergency Hospital in capital Kabul on Friday to enquire about the health of those wounded in the Park Palace attack.
Several persons were killed, including nine foreigners, after three to four gunmen stormed the Park Palace guesthouse on Wednesday night. The dead included four Indians, two Pakistanis, an American, a Briton, an Italian and a Kazakh woman. Taliban claimed credit for the attack.
A music concert had reportedly been planned at the hotel when it was attacked, sparking a stand-off with the hotel’s guards before security forces sealed off the Kolola Pushta neighbourhood after 9pm. A statement from the Presidential Palace on Friday said that the president directed health officials to take every step to provide the injured with best medical care.
Second Vice President Mohammad Sarwar Danish on Thursday evening also enquired about the health of the wounded persons. Ghani prayed for swift recovery of wounded persons.
