Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL) Mr. Assad Zamir paid a two-and-half hour visit to Afghanistan Agricultural Inputs project (AAIP).
Each unit of AAIP presented their performance update of the last two months. AAIP has planned to construct and equip 15 farms, 10 plant quarantine stations and a complex of 13 laboratories throughout Afghanistan.
After hearing these updates, his Excellency the minister pledged full support and promised to address concerns and problems raised by AAIP staff. Besides that, Mr. Zamir also gave guidance to each unit to speed up activities and avoid any delay in proceeding and executing Afghanistan Agricultural Inputs Project’s activities.
Mr. Assad Zamir said that he was meticulously monitoring AAIP activities. He further added “I am willing to give 30-60 minutes time each week, if AAIP staff deem necessary”.
AAIP has targeted specific parts of agriculture that include construction and rehabilitation of research farms, quarantine network, capacity building of MAIL, complex of laboratories to prevent low quality pesticides and fertilizers.
