Terrorists target charity workers early Tuesday

Terrorists who carried out a series of bomb attacks in Kabul Tuesday night targeted a non-governmental charity organization devoted to helping the poor, according to multiple media reports.

President Ashraf Ghani issued a statement immediately following the terrorist attacks expressing condolences to the families of those martyred in the attacks and wishing for a quick recovery for those wounded.
“The enemies of Afghanistan have lost their ability to fight the Security and Defense Forces of the country and thus attack highways, cities, mosques, schools and common people,” Ghani said.

Despite the terrorists’ intentions to do harm to humanitarian workers, Afghan police killed the gunmen and rescued 42 people from the Care International facility targeted in the attack, the spokesman for the Interior Minister, Sediq Seddiqi, said Tuesday.
