President Ghani Meet Italian Chief of Army Staff


President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met yesterday with Italian chief of army staff at presidential palace.

In the meeting, both sides discussed various issues in particular winter and spring plans of Afghanistan defense and security forces. The country’s President praised Italy for its assistance and cooperation with Afghanistan. The Italian army chief of staff considered reforms in Afghan security and defense organs as result of Afghanistan government’s efforts and hoped continued reforms process in Afghanistan security and defense organs. President Ghani asserted that Afghanistan government would make use of recent years’ lessons and experiences for development of future plans in various sectors, adding that further works would be followed in leadership and structures of security and defense forces. The Italian army chief of staff assured President Ghani of creating way of joint cooperation in various sections, saying that as Italian troops were stationed in Herat, but he would try to boost cooperation between the two countries.
