Following the inauguration of development projects, seven utility projects have been completed and handed-over in Baghlan province.
These projects include: construction of two bridges, culvert, cleaning of two irrigation channels, construction of retaining walls and two micro hydro-power plants (MHPs).
The projects have been completed through the National Solidarity Programme (NSP) of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) in various villages of Khost and Jelga districts of Baghlan province. Upon the completion of these projects some problems of about 3000 rural families in the mentioned districts were solved.
The aforementioned projects have been completed at a cost of more than AFN 12 million. The construction works of these projects were begun nearly ten months ago by the MRRD based on the priorities and demand of the rural residents. The implementation of these projects was a response to lack of transportation facilities, social protection, electricity, farming and drinking water.
