Eid is the time for visiting relatives, friends and neighbours.
Afghans celebrate the festival with religious fervour, reverence and traditional events. It is a time to hug each other, show kindness, and forgive and forget mistakes. Unity and brotherhood are the major themes of the day.
“Eid is the time of peace. I send greetings to all the countrymen, and wish that Almighty God accepts the prayers and worships of Afghans. For the sake of Ramadan and Eid I wish peace for the people of Afghanistan.” Zalmai, shopkeeper, Khost.
“I would like to wish all Afghans a peaceful and safe Eidul Fitr. We are ready to defend our people and assure them a peaceful environment, especially on Eid. Let’s help each other and be kind to everyone.” Colonel Sayed Abbas Sadaat, Kapisa.
“I wish all the happiness on Eid to everybody. I hope that Afghans are having joyful celebrations all over the country. Let it be a day when everyone is helping each other the best way they can. Remember also the poor and the weak ones.” Abdul Hakim, Parwan
