Ahmadzai to visit China later this month



President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai will be leaving for China later this month, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul announced on Monday.

The ministry in a statement said that Acting Foreign Minister Zarar Ahmad Osmani and Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan Deng Xijun held talks and discussed the friendly relations between the two countries.The statement said Osmani stressed enhanced bilateral relations and informed the Chinese envoy that the new government in Kabul was interested in increased cooperation between the two nations.Osmani, who discussed with the Chinese envoy the Heart of Asia-Istanbul process, said President Ahmadzai would visit China from October 28 to 30.An Afghan delegation would travel to China on October 15 to set the stage for President Ahmadzai’s visit to the neighbouring country, the acting foreign minister said.The Chinese Ambassador called as important expansion in ties between the two countries.He said recent visits by high-ranking Chinese officials showed that China wanted to cement its relationship with Afghanistan. Xijun assured the Afghan delegation would be provided with all required facilities.
