Hajj flights to start arriving today




Flights bringing back hajj pilgrims from Saudi Arabia would start arriving in the country tomorrow, an official said on Tuesday.

Daiul Haq Aabid, Director for Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs (MoHRA), told Pajhwok Afghan News the first flight would land at the Kabul Airport around 02:30 tomorrow morning.He informed the first flight would bring back some 218 pilgrims. The entire operation would last 21 days during which some 118 flights would land in the country, Aabid noted.According to official figures, 23980 people from Afghanistan had gone to perform this year's hajj. Aabid said 11 elderly Afghan pilgrims had died during the Hajj and had been buried in the kingdom.
