Australian on Wednesday pledged continued assistance to the government of Afghanistan in diverse fields.
Ambassador Jon Philp held out the pledge at a meeting with President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai in Kabul.
The diplomat called on Ahmadzai at the Presidential Palace, where they discussed multiple issues, including Australia’s efforts for the reconstruction of Afghanistan.
President Ahmadzai thanked the Australian government for continued supported, particularly to the people of central Uruzgan province.
He also praised the Australian system of accountability and wished the introduction of a similar scheme in Afghanistan to eliminate corruption.
