In continuation of the series of workshops for informing the people of the mine extraction process in four zones of the country has been undertaken.
A three day workshop was held on March 29, 2015 at Heart by the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum with the cooperation of MIDAS project, which was attended by the Mining Directorate in Herat, activists from civil society and representatives of the private sector.
At the beginning, Sibghatullah Stanikzei a trainer from MIDAS, highlighted the role of law, regulations, tender process, support of mining policies and transparency in the mining process.
Mr. Stanikzei also gave a presentation on the key role of the Government, a broad vision for long-term benefits of mining, legal permits, social and environmental permits, the benefits of people and investors, income of government and environmental effects of mining.
The presentation was praised by the participants who wanted the continuance of workshops like this.
The main goal of the series of these workshops is to inform the people about the mines and various processes of mining activities and the processes of mining contracts.
The workshop concluded with answering the questions of the participants and awarding the certificates.
