Anti-state elements won’t succeed to create chaos: Ulumi

Interior Minister Noor-ul-Haq Ulumi said on Wednesday that anti-state elements would not succeed in their nefarious designs to scuttle law and order of the country.

He praised the role of officers of Special Police Unit (SPU) and distributed commendation certificates among policemen in recognition of their services.
He said the SPU was a unique force and had been trained to eliminate terrorists and drugs trafficking.
The unite has defeated terrorists in the past and would not allow them in the future to pose threat or shed blood of innocent Afghans, he noted.
He said support and equipment of security forces was the duty of government and the Interior Ministry would provide all equipments and logistic support to SPU and police force.
Col. Kambiz Yama, a senior SPU official, said police officials associated with the unit had been trained on advanced line to fight terror diligently.
The unit executed at least 2,000 raids against militants in one year, he recalled, adding that 1,051 terrorists had been eliminated, 3,000 wounded and 1,368 were detained.
In addition, 35,000 kilogram drugs were seized and more than 1,000 landmines were defused by the SPU, he said.
