138 Armed Insurgents Killed in Fresh Afghan National Security Forces Joint Operations


ready-for-opsIn past 24 hours, Afghan National Police conducted several anti-terrorism joint operations with Afghan National Army and NDS to clear some of the areas from terrorists and enemies of peace and stability of Afghanistan.

The operations were conducted in Kunduz, Faryab, Badakhshan, Sar-e-Pul, Kandahar, Zabul, Uruzgan, Ghazni, Paktika, Nangarhar and Ghor provinces, as a result 138 armed insurgents were killed, 83 wounded and seven others were arrested by Afghan National Security Forces.

Armed insurgents suffered the heaviest casualty in Ghor province.

Also, during these operations, Afghan National Police discovered and confiscated light and heavy rounds ammunition and 55 motorcycles.

During the same 24 hour period, Afghan National Police discovered and defused seven different types of IEDs placed by enemies of Afghanistan for destructive activities in Baghlan and Kandahar provinces.

Afghan National Police are working diligently with local leaders and the public to prevent these types of acts from killing and wounding innocent civilians and security forces.
