In order to response the losses of recent attack on Kundoz province, Minister Nasir Ahmad Durrani, the Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development met in his office with representatives from various relief organizations.
The meeting was attended by high-level representatives from various relief and development organizations including:
1. Mr. Jocelyn Mason, Country Director of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for Afghanistan.
2. Mr. Akhil Lyer, Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, UNHCR.
3. Mr. Scot Anderson, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), head of Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
4. Ms. Eliane Provo Kluit, Special Assistant to Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) and resident and humanitarian coordinator.
During this meeting the attended parties discussed the ongoing situation of Kundoz province in particular the rehabilitation of community projects and delivering of emergency reliefs were the main issues discussed in the meeting.
Also in the meeting future plans on the implementation of the joint projects were discussed and the decision was made that representatives from the sectoral ministries should attend the upcoming meeting.
