Indian PM Inaugurates Kabul's New Parliament Building



India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially inaugurated Afghanistan's new parliament building on Friday morning along with President Ashraf Ghani.

This is Modi's first visit to Afghanistan. India funded the new building, which cost an estimated $90 million USD to build.The building, which boasts the largest dome in Asia, is a fusion of Murghal and modern architecture and is located between the ruins of the King's Palace, Darulaman, and the Queen's Palace.On the eve of Modi's official trip to Kabul, the Indian government announced the delivery of three Mi-25 attack helicopters to Afghanistan.Sources within the Ministry of Defense (MoD) have confirmed that three Mi-25 attack helicopters have arrived in Kabul and soon another helicopter will be delivered by New Delhi to Afghan forces.Premier Modi is also expected to deliver a new Indian aid package, worth $200 million USD, to Afghanistan, the source said.
