During a recent visit to Jowzjan province, H.E. Eng. Nasir Ahmad Durrani, the Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD), officially inaugurated the Maintenance and Protection Project of the National Solidarity Program in that province under the auspices of National Employment Program.
Addressing those at the inauguration ceremony of NSP’s Maintenance and Protection Project Minister Durrani said, “During the first phase of the project, the MRRD is determined to rehabilitate the destroyed projects across 204 villages of Sheberghan the provincial capital, Khaniqa and Aqcha districts, worth of AFN 119 million and 700 thousand.”
At the same time, approximately 321 thousand labour days will be created and 12852 local people will gain access to short-term job opportunities during the implementation of this project.
As well as, the Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development inaugurated the commencement of work on two road projects in the vicinity of Sheberghan, the provincial capital of Jowzjan province.
The aforementioned two projects include the gravelling of two rural roads more than seven kilometers in length. These projects will be implemented by the National Solidarity Program of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (NSP/MRRD) at a sum of more than AFN one million and 280 thousand.
Upon the completion of these transportation projects, Sakhi Abad and Amir Ali Sher Nawai villages would be connected with Jowzjan high-way and 859 rural households will gain access to many facilities.
