Workshop holds “On the Legal Process of International Treaties from Drafting Process to Implementation, challenges and solutions”


A Workshop titled “The Legal Process of International Treaties from drafting process to implementation, challenges and solutions” held today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The workshop was attended by Dr. Naseer Ahmad Andisha Deputy Foreign Minister for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Dr. Mohammad Qasim Hashimzai Head of Independent Commission for Overseeing the Implementation of Constitution, Mr. Mohammad Daud Kalakani member of the Committee on International Affairs of Wolesi Jirga, representatives of independent government administrations, representatives of the Supreme Court and Attorney General Office, and heads of departments of the Ministry of foreign Affairs.
At the outset, Dr. Andisha spoke on the importance of international treaties and conventions and underlined that one of the main duty of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to protect the interests of Afghanistan in foreign countries and international organizations through international treaties and conventions.
In addition, Dr. Andisha considered the signing of hundreds of treaties with other countries, especially with the neighboring and Muslim countries as a network of expanding international relations, as well as he called the signing of other agreements, including tripartite Chabahar transit agreement between Afghanistan and regional countries; TAPI; CASA (1000); Transit-trade agreement with Pakistan; accession to the World Trade Organization Status, and accession to the laws of Sea Convention (1982) as an important step that in the last two years has brought economic benefits for Afghanistan.
