Three Telecommunication projects in Ghazni inaugurated


telecomMinister Amirzai Sangin leading a delegationof the Minsitry of Communications & Information Technology (MCIT) visited Ghazni province earlier this week.


In this visit Minister Amirzai Sangin inaugurated three projects (Fiber Optic, Afghan Telecom Digital telephone with 5000 lines and Afghan Telecom DSL) in Ghazni province.
Sangin along with his board attended the ceremony, which was held on this occasion and faced warm welcome by the officials and people of Ghazni province.

Engineer Sangin also talked about the growth of telecommunications and IT throughout the country and said: the sector of Communications and IT have basic role and to date it has grown considerably in the past ten years.
He added there are 20 million telephone subscribers and over two and a half billion dollars investments in the field of Telecommunications and Information Technology in our country and a large number of people are provided direct and indirect jobs.

He said: annually we deliver over 200 million dollars income to the state treasury.
“Our presence today in the historic city of Ghazni is officially to inaugurate and put in operation three major projects (Fiber Optic, Digital Telephone and Afghan DSL).”
He said the three projects came at a cost of 7 million USD .

With the launch of these projects the citizens of Ghazni will have access to better IT and Internet services with reasonable price.
Currently, this service is operated only in the Ghazni city but would be extended to the districts of the province in near future.

The governor of Ghazni province Mr. Mossa Khan Akbarzada praised the developments and noted the importance of the projects for the people of Ghazni and provincial administration.
