Intelligence officials have arrested Taliban’s shadow governor for Laghman in eastern Nangarhar province, Amin Jan Kuchai, along with his two associates, the Governor’s House said on Tuesday.
A statement from the governor’s house said Kuchai was arrested by National Directorate of Security (NDS) officials in Samarkhel area of Behsud district.
The Taliban’s shadow governor arrived in Afghanistan one month back to conduct insurgent activities in eastern Laghman province, the statement said.
It said Kuchai was travelling in a truck along with his two friends named Jan Mohammad and Amir Mohammad when security officials stopped them in Samarkhel locality.
The detainees, who had confessed to their involvement in subversive activities, had been transferred to the provincial NDS office for investigation.
