At least 29 Daesh insurgents were killed in an ongoing military operation in eastern Nangarhar province, local officials said on Wednesday.
In addition, 15 other insurgents were injured.
The operation was launched in Kot district of the province on Tuesday and is ongoing to clear all Daesh insurgents, a spokesman for the Provincial Police Chief, Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal said.
However, he did not provide further details about the operation or about casualties among security force members.
Kot and Achin districts are insecure areas where Daesh insurgents are active and frequently attack security forces.
