At least 6 loyalists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group were killed in an airstrike in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said the airstrike was carried out in the restive Achin district, leaving 6 of them dead and 2 others wounded.
The latest airstrike targeting the loyalists of the terror group comes amid ongoing operations to eliminate the loyalists of the terror group from the restive districts of Nangarhar.
Both the Afghan and US forces conduct regular raids against the loyalists of the terror group in Nangarhar province.
The Afghan forces captured numerous key compounds used by the terror group in Nangarhar province after launched a major operation this province around two weeks ago.
The operations were launched to prevent the loyalists the terror group to expand foothold and operations in the country.
In the meantime the US forces in Afghanistan are conducting airstrikes against the terror group after the US President Barack Obama granted broader role to target the ISIS loyalists in the country.
