The professional Afghan security forces keep on chasing away insurgents, enemies of Afghanistan, illegally armed groups and other criminals with the aim to maintain security, implement the law, provide secure environment and to ensure citizens that the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) are in service of the people.
These endless efforts, dedication and professionalism of the ANSF recently resulted in seizing 22 AK47, 14 different kinds of rockets, seven pistols, three roadside bombs and two tonnes of explosives.
These weapons and ammunition were confiscated during various security operations in Dahanah-e Ghori, Baghlan-e Jadid and Khenjan districts of Baghlan province. The cache was handed over to the Disbandment of Illegal Armed Groups (DIAG) programme in Pul-e Khumri, the provincial capital of Baghlan province.
Col Abdul Rashid Bashir, the head of security in Baghlan, was pleased with recent achievements of the security forces. He told Sada-e Azadi that he was immensely impressed by the bravery of the ANP.
“Confiscation of such a large amount of ammunition and explosives has once again proved the strength and professionalism of our security forces. Strong commitment of the security forces, along with exceptional dedication, has convinced the people of their professionalism and power. After seeing the successes of our security forces, people trust them even more,” said Col Bashir.
Col Lalla Gul, representative of the delegation of DIAG programme, recalled that collecting illegal weapons and other dangerous materials have helped prevent many illegal acts and saved the lives of innocent Afghans.
“The insurgents and other disruptive groups are making useless efforts to harm and create problems for innocent people. I am thankful to our security forces who put their lives in danger and fight for the safety of the people. May God bless our troops!” Col Gul said.
Nassir Ahmad, a local resident of Pul-e Khumri, is proud of the Afghan security forces and underlines the significant work that they are doing. “The fact is that we can live a peaceful life because of the brave soldiers and police officers who are protecting us and implementing the law in our society. I am proud of them and I appreciate all their service to the Afghan people.”
