Intelligence officials on Tuesday detained a Taliban’s spokesman for northeastern Badakhshan province and an Iranian national in western Herat province, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said.
The MoI in a statement said the Taliban’s spokesman was also involved in insurgent activities, but did not provide details.
There has been no word from the Taliban about the arrest of their spokesman for Badakhshan.
In Herat, an Iranian national was detained by police for illegally entering Afghanistan, the MoI statement said.
Earlier, security forces had detained three Al Qaida suspects in northern Kunduz province. Police later paraded one of the detainees identified as Iqbal before media representatives.
