Forty-three Uplift Projects Completed in Badakhshan

uplift-project-5At a cost of more than AFN 56 million and 466 thousand funded by the National Solidarity Programme of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD/NSP) 43 infrastructure projects were recently completed in Argo, Arghanj Khwa, Keran wa Menjan, Shuhada, Shahri Buzurg, Tagab and Baharak districts of Badakhshan province.

These development projects include the construction and irrigation of rural roads, construction of culverts, retaining and gabion walls, Foot Bridge, social centers, toilets, irrigation canals, micro hydro power plants and extension of water supply networks.

Approximately, 6,789 families in various communities have gained access to basic human needs upon completion of these projects.

Since its inception in Badakhshan province, the NSP has been able to execute 3,144 development projects in different sectors including transport, water and sanitation, irrigation, power, livelihoods, education, etc while the work of another 779 is currently in progress.
