During a trip to Bamyan province, the Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development H.E. Eng. Nasir Ahmad Durrani inaugurated National Employment Generation Program in that province. Addressing a brief press conference in Bamyan province, the Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development said the second phase of National Employment Generation Program includes the provinces of Herat, Farah, Ghor, Badghis and Bamyan.
A sum of AFN 140 million has been allocated for the MCG Project, initially designed to launch in Panjab and Waras districts of Bamyan province. The MCG Project will cover 281 communities in the districts mentioned. The commencement of the project will provide 14,032 individuals with employment opportunities.
The MRRD Minster said that his ministry has paid further attention to Bamyan province during last two years. Statistics show that most projects have been implemented under the current national unity government in Bamyan province. The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has completed a total of 1722 projects from 1381 to October 1393 throughout Bamyan province worth of USD 35 million. It shows the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development had invested 81 dollars for each Bamyani during the mentioned period. But fortunately, only from the beginning of fiscal year 1394, the MRRD has completed and handed-over 745 development projects in various areas worth of USD 14.9 million, now the investment has reached from 81 dollars to 115 dollars. Emphasizing on balance development and social justice, Minister Durrani stated that the MRRD has implemented and completed over 200 development projects at a sum of USD 2.9 million across the provincial capital, Panjab, Sayghan, Shibar, Waras, Kahmard and Yakawlang districts during fiscal year 1395.
According to Minister Nasir Ahmad Durrani, these projects encompass the construction of roads, bridge, culverts, retaining walls, micro hydro power plants, irrigation canals, water supply networks, community development, education and healthcare projects.
Minister Durrani added, “Including National Employment Generation projects inaugurated today, currently 155 projects are in progress across various villages of Yakawlang, Kahmard, Waras, Shibar, Sayghan and Panjab districts of Bamyan province worth of USD 2.2 million. Vast majority of these projects will be completed and handed-over in late fiscal year 1395.
Similarly, Asif Mubalegh Deputy Governor of Bamyan province praised the achievements made so for by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development. Since Bamyani people rely on agriculture and Bamyan is an Agricultural province Deputy Governor wanted from the MRRD to implement projects in the agriculture sector. He also urged the MRRD’s leadership to implement more projects in the transportation sectors in Bamyan province.
Hussain Dad Khalili, Head of Bamyan Provincial Council says:”Through its National Solidarity Program (NSP), the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) have executed several development projects across Bamyan province. Due to the exclusion of Bamyan province, dozens of other multi-sector projects have to be implemented across the province.”
Commending the inauguration of National Employment Generation Program in Bamyan province, several elders and Civil Society Activists of the province urged the MRRD to pay attention to the maintenance of the completed projects.
It’s to be noted that beside the inauguration of National Employment Program in Bamyan province the MRRD Minister also inaugurated some development projects and handed them over to the people.
