At least 10 rebels, including suicide bombers, were killed in International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) drone strikes and a search operation in different parts of the country, officials said on Wednesday.
Six suicide bombers were killed in an ISAF drone attack in central Logar province, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a statement.
The incident occurred in the Babos locality of Pul-i-Alam City, the provincial capital, police chief Brig. Gen. Abdul Hakim Ishaqzai told Pajhwok Afghan News.
An ISAF drone fired a missile at a car, killing of six militants on board, he added. The missile strike triggered blasts inside the car, which strengthened the notion that the militants were suicide bombers.
Elsewhere, four militants were killed and two others wounded in ISAF search operation in the Haska Mena district of eastern Nangarhar province.
Police spokesman Maj. Hazrat Hussain Mashraqiwal said the operation was conducted in the Gorgori locality Tuesday evening. Three militants were also arrested during the offensive, he added.
Taliban have not yet commented on the incidents.
