Security forces found and seized a large weapons depot during a series of search operations in southeastern Khost province, an official said on Tuesday.
The depot was confiscated by a special police force unit in Sehra village east of Khost City on the basis of an intelligence report, the unit commander, Habibullah Afshar, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the depot contained explosives, suicide vests, materials used in suicide attacks, propaganda literature and others. The explosives had skillfully been hidden in a garbage pile, Afshar added.
He said security forces had suffered no casualties so far during the ongoing search operations and that no arrests could be made in connection with the arms depot.
