With a cost of 83 million Afs 86 sub-projects of the National Solidarity Programme of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD/NSP) were recently completed in Arghandab, Spinboldak, Dand, Khakrez, Maiwand, Myanshin, Shaka, Arghistan, Marof, Shahwali Kot, and Shorabak districts of Kandahar province.
These development projects include gravelling of rural roads, construction of irrigation canals, community centers, retaining and protection walls, culverts and excavation of safe drinking water wells. Approximately, the residents of 11 districts have benefited from these development projects.
Since its inception, the NSP has disbursed more than one billion and 608 million Afs for implementation of 1890 development projects in different sectors such as transport, water and sanitation, irrigation, power, livelihoods and education. Thousands of residents of Kandahar province have benefited from these projects so far.
