Fake currency printers detained in Herat


crimeSecurity officials in western Herat province on Thursday detained three people allegedly involved in printing fake currency notes.

Addressing a media briefing in Herat City, a police spokesman said the individuals had printed 250,000 afs, 22,000 Pakistani rupees, and 900 US dollars..
Abdul Rauf Ahmadi said three pistols and as many motorbikes were also seized from the detainees. The men detained from different areas of the city have confessed to their crime.
Haji Fazlur Rahman Khadim, the Herat counter-terrorism officer, accused the men of selling drugs as well. He said police had been monitoring them over the past three weeks.
