Nimroz revenue soars

Nimrooz-revenue-incomeThe revenue of western Nimroz customs has significantly increased during the first half of the ongoing financial year.

Wais Sultani, the customs director, told Pajhwok Afghan News that an increase of one billion afghanis had been recorded during the past six months. He linked the revenue hike to the introduction of a new banking system, traders’ interest on transporting their goods through the Nimroz port and prevention of tax evasion.
Fifty per cent of imports from Iran through the port included fuel, fertilisers, plaster, cement, iron girders, food items and dairy products while the remaining 50 per cent like auto parts, electronics and fabrics came from China.
