19 Insurgents Renounce Violence In Ghor

joining-peace-proccess-1At least 19 insurgents have renounced violence in western Ghor province and joined the peace process, local officials said on Tuesday.

Provincial Police Chief Mohammad Zaman Azimi says that the men joined the peace process through the efforts of tribal elders and security forces.
"Mullah Noor Ahmad, a Taliban leader, is among the men who joined the peace process," he said.
This comes after120 Taliban insurgents surrendered and joined the peace process in northern Faryab province on Monday after being surrounded for two days in a military operation led by First Vice President Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum, officials said.
